Nur Ain brings over 15 years of experience across public service and private practice, offering clients a well-rounded and strategic perspective on litigation and regulatory matters. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the National University of Malaysia and a Diploma in Judiciary and Islamic Law. She began her legal career at the Attorney General’s Chambers, serving as Assistant State Legal Advisor for Selangor. In this position, she advised on and vetted contracts involving the State Government and its agencies, and represented the State in litigation at both trial and appellate levels.
In 2013, Nur Ain joined the Judicial Service, where she served as Senior Assistant Registrar at the Johor Bahru High Court before being appointed Registrar of the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya. She was subsequently attached to the Kuala Lumpur High Court (Criminal Division), where she was involved in several high-profile matters, including cases relating to 1MDB. Her final judicial posting was as Magistrate in Parit Buntar, where she presided over a full range of civil and criminal matters. Transitioning into private practice in 2021, Nur Ain joined Kandiah Partnership as a Partner. Her practice encompasses a broad spectrum of litigation matters, including debt recovery claim proceedings for major corporations such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad and Suruhanjaya Pengurusan Air Negara, as well as disputes involving land law, fraud, contractual claims, and tortious actions. She also has substantial experience in criminal litigation, acting for the Defence including in capital punishment cases and representing companies facing quasi-criminal charges. Leveraging her background in Syariah law, Nur Ain regularly handles estate administration matters, with particular focus on probate and small estate distribution. She is known for her clear communication, responsiveness, and strong commitment to achieving effective outcomes for her clients.

Successfully acted for and defended juveniles in High Court revision proceedings involving charges under Section 436 of the Penal Code (mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy a house).
Successfully defended an accused charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code (murder) by advancing the defence of unsoundness of mind.
Successfully claimed damages for a plaintiff arising from a second-hand hire-purchase transaction under the Hire-Purchase Act 1967 and the Contracts Act 1950.
Successfully claimed damages for a plaintiff in a breach of a machinery sale and purchase agreement under the Sale of Goods Act 1957 and the Contracts Act 1950.
Successfully acted for the defendant in an action for injunction and declaration seeking rescission of share sale agreements under the Companies Act.
Successfully acted for the plaintiff in claiming damages against the defendant for due and owing rental payments pursuant to the Contracts Act 1950.
Successfully acted for the defendant in a debt recovery claim amounting to RM7,560,190.88 and secured an out-of-court settlement in favour of the defendant.
